Why Black Beauty?

I thought that probably you would be wondering about the name of the blog, so I decided to dadicate this week's blog to explain why did I decided to put that name to it.

When the teacher told us that we had to create a blog and that the topic of my blog has to be about horses I had no idea of what to write about, then I remembered a movie that I watched when I was little, the name of the movie was Black Beauty. Do you remember it? If not I'm going to explain what I remember:

It was about the life of a horse that lived alot of different situations, it was a male horse that, of course, was black. He had alot of owners during his life, some were horrible people, some others had beautiful souls, but the point is that all that he lived, that was told by him (like an autobiography), made his life very interesting and full of adventures. It is really beautiful; I remembered that I cried when I watched it.

So in my blog name dilemma I remembered the movie and I named the blog like it.

I think its a good name, considering that the blog is about the good and bad relationships between horses and people, and Black Beauty experienced both; I think it feets perfectly.

But you can also give your opinion about it, live your comment of how I should have named the blog and have a nice day.

Horse whispering is the philosophy of working with horses by appealing to their instincts and to their herd instincts. It involves communication techniques, which were obtained by the observation of wild horses, in order to build a partnership that are like the relationships that exist between horses.

These are the principle ideas of horse whispering:

·         Horses are social animals (they habit in herds) so they have developed a communication system that is practiced, primarily, through body language. It is possible for humans to learn how to use this body language to communicate with the horse. Horses are likely to form a relationship of respect with humans who treat them also with respect.

·         Teaching through pain and fear do not result in the type of relationship that benefits both horse and handler. The objective is to train the horse and that it feels calmed and safe, a horse that feels this way is more likely to form a bond with the handler and the results can be remarkable.

·         The basic technique is to apply a pressure of some kind to the horse as a punishment for an action and then release the pressure as soon as the horse responds. The horse has to learn not for from the pressure itself, but rather from the release of that pressure.

Horse whispering has developed the use of behavioral negative reinforcement to replace violent practices used in some methods of training. The ultimate goal is a calmer, happier and more willing partner in the horse. The horse learns to work with people in a partnership instead as an adversary.

I think this is the way all the human-amial and even human-human relationships should work.
